Every picture tells a story

Make greetings cards
Making cards together is a great way to spend an afternoon — even if it means getting a wee bit messy. You’ll both love cutting out, decorating and writing special messages in the cards together.
Reading stories is fun for everyone
Reading a story together is a great way to spend time. Children love it when you point out things in the pictures, talk about the different characters in the story and read the words together. And a story at bedtime is always a great way to get them settled down for the night.
Counting is all fun and games
Children love playing games like Snakes and Ladders. As they roll the dice, climb the ladders and slither down the snakes they’re counting at the same time.
Every second counts
Children really like looking at newspapers and magazines. They’ll love reading ‘grownups’ stuff and looking at the pictures with you. Show them football scores or chat to them about the stories – it’s a great excuse for some quiet time and a wee cuddle together.
Design and make your very own magazine together
Kids love finding out what their parents like. Sharing things like magazines together is a great way to show your child what you like reading. Spend a chilled out morning together and make your very own fashion magazine.
